ABOUT
Memphis-born country singer Maddye Trew has been performing since she was a little girl; now a recent graduate of Belmont University with a Bachelor of Arts in commercial music, Maddye is excited to carve out her spot in the Nashville music community with a uniquely soulful voice and cute country flair.
Not a day goes by that Maddye isn’t creating a new song, shining up her setlist, or sharpening the details that will help her turn the next corner, and the anticipation of her first nationwide digital release before the end of the year keeps her focused and inspired.
”I’m so excited to get my own music out there,” shares Maddye. “Making it is great, but sharing it? That’s the best…and I can’t wait to make that happen!”
Recognizing the value of learning the business of the music business, Maddye’s been fortunate to find valuable lessons and lasting mentors through three separate internships with King Pen Music Publishing, Warner-Chappell and Diamond Eye Music.
“I will always be grateful for those folks,” says Maddye. “To give me those opportunities, that guidance — I know that will help me so much going forward. They were just awesome to me.”
Even so, on her journey as a developing performer, this young songbird has already made her way to some pretty impressive stages, Maddye learned early on how to connect with an audience. Maddye was a 2014 American Idol Hollywood contestant while still in high school, and she has performed on stages across the country ranging from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles to Carnegie Hall in New York City.
”I’ve always known I wanted to be a singer, and I’ve taken every step I could to make this happen for me,” says Maddye. “I’ve always admired and looked up to both Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson (both American Idol alumni), not only because they were crazy talented, but also because they were good examples for me. So, I guess my music has some of both of their styles. They were my role models then, and they still are today!”
Beyond her love of music, Maddye knows that she could become an influence on others as well, as these now superstars were for her. “I want to be that for people, too,” she notes. “I want to make great music that inspires people and do what I can to be positive influence in the world.”
Maddye’s on her way.
