Maddye Trew's Award-Winning "Single Of The Year" Heads to Radio with Rave Reviews

Timely 'anthem for the unattached' whimsical fodder for wedding season

Nashville, Tenn. (June 10, 2025) -- Country music newcomer Maddye Trew is pleased to release "Single Of The Year" to radio (available via PlayMPE) following rave reviews. This upbeat "anthem for the unattached" raises a glass to those who remain reluctantly single while claiming awards for those who possess "the most broken heart." This duality--the track's heavy-handed dose of humor mixed with a subtle undertone of heartache--is what critics hail.

"It's about owning the mess, laughing through the pain, and turning your worst romantic failures into your best stories. And that's very Gen Z," states Brent Musgrave of Music Existence. "It's pop culture commentary in steel-toed boots," concurs Jennifer Munoz of Vents magazine. In either case, it's highly relatable and perfect whimsical fodder for a singles sing-along throughout the upcoming wedding season.

"I've got five bridesmaid dresses in my closet and am likely going to have to buy a sixth and seventh this year!" laughs Maddye. "That's what happens when you are a young person chasing a career and establishing your life...that's the new norm, I guess. But, there still oughta be an award for that!"

Perhaps "Trew-er" words were never spoken. "Single Of The Year," written by Lauren Spring, John Frank, and Brad McKinney, was awarded fourth place (behind three ballads) in the 2025 NSAI Song Contest Presented by CMT before its release by Trew. Late last month, the song was selected as a semi-finalist in the Wide Open Country 2024 Song Contest.
