With Over 163,000 Views, Maddye Trew is Still Stunned by Her Country Rebel Debut

Classic Patty Loveless Tribute Leaves a Mark

(Original Premiere of “Chains” from Maddye Trew: September 24, 2020)

Before Maddye Trew released her first single, “Only Sometimes,” and introduced us to her mix of pop-country sensibilities and classic country nostalgia, she found many new friends and fans alike through her first feature with the celebrated online music platform, Country Rebel. Her live and organic take on the Patty Loveless classic, “Chains,” showcases a spunky delivery and appreciation for those that came before her … and it quickly gathered up over 163,000 views!

Recorded at My Blue Heaven Studios in Columbia, TN, the goal was simple: gather up a few talented friends and let the music take care of itself. Having yet to establish an online platform of her own with the coming release of her first single a few months later, it was quite a thrill to see the embrace of this throwback tribute by the young Memphis up-and-comer.

“This is the musical project I explored with Jeff [McMahon], (18 years touring and recording with Tim McGraw), and I really got to learn how social media and marketing myself can work. We knew this would fit the vibe of Country Rebel, but there were no promises made to me that it would be released on this platform. I just knew I wanted to do this song, and we could use it somehow!”

Well, Country Rebel did like it, and after it was released on Facebook, it took off quickly.

’”I’m new,” said Maddye, “so I was absolutely stunned by the outcome. Almost 170,000 views! I was at a Tennessee Volunteers football game as my mom was at home, watching it blow up; she had to explain it to me as I struggled to hear her. I screamed at the news while everyone else screamed, “GO VOLS! “

“Sooooo cool; oh, and I cried,” she added. “By the end of it all, the only word I was left with was blessed.

Thanks to those who watched it! I really hope y’all enjoyed it as much as I did making it!
